Meet Viktoria Brave:

Viktoria Brave (she/her) is a multi-talented artist~philosopher.
Viktoria Brave is an alter-ego that I (Véronique Rousseau) created to ‘follow the threads’ forming our shared ‘fabric-of-existence’. My goal is to explore and map the complexities of life in the 21st century (AKA: the Anthropocene).
My weavings and quilts act as both medium and metaphor to materialize the entanglement and assemblage of beings, ideas, materials and structures composing contemporary realities.
My writings records my observations on my lived experiences as deep critical thinker of the human condition(s).
While my art is concept-driven and rich in symbolism, my style remains playful, curious and colourfully bold.
My Core principles:

To live with integrity, care~fully and response~ably, so that I may develop to the fullest of my abilities.
To think critically about the theories and myths orienting our societies, so that I may offer more enlightened stories to myself and my communities.
To use ART to show that life is a relational process shaped by all beings and their relationships.
To transform materials and create objects embodying my values and creative capacity.
To write essays about my observations and interpretation of the worlds in which we live.
To weave… because it’s fun and meditative (and it keeps me sane in a MAD-driven world).
